Hancor, Ducks Unlimited agree to keep helping each other help the environment

Findlay, OH, September 19, 2003 — After just 17 months of working together, Hancor and Ducks Unlimited realized that this relationship deserved much more. The two organizations have extended their partnership for another three years.

Of course the real winner from this announcement is the environment.

• With support from primary corporate partners like Hancor, Ducks Unlimited was able to conserve approximately 250,000 acres since June 2002 and accomplished 110 percent of its overall goal. Ducks Unlimited has over 3,300 active wetlands conservation projects in all states.
• Between July 2002 and June 2003, DU started 585 new projects, and completed 689 projects.
• DU conservation specialists and professionals use Hancor products and actively work with Hancor engineers on new product development.

The partnership includes a promotional program and licensed Ducks Unlimited products. Ducks Unlimited protects, enhances, restores and manages important wetlands and associated uplands. Hancor piping systems and water control gates are commonly used in habitat conservation projects.

As an official partner of Ducks Unlimited, Hancor’s environmentally friendly HDPE pipe has helped Ducks Unlimited restore and maintain wetland ecosystems across North America (see statistics above). Wetlands improve the overall health of our environment by recharging and purifying groundwater, moderating floods, reducing soil erosion and providing wildlife habitat. Additionally, Hancor has made significant contributions to support Ducks Unlimited’s fundraising and conservation efforts. The partnership is seen as a natural fit for both organizations.

Ducks Unlimited is a grassroots, volunteer-based organization. Its members are conservationists and lovers of the outdoors who live throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
