Hancor supports GCBAA Sticks for Kids Program
Findlay, Ohio – April 30, 2003: Hancor, Inc., a leading manufacturer of storm water management systems, has become an associate member of the Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA). The financial contribution provided by Hancor will be used in support of the Sticks for Kids Program. The GCBAA, in partnership with its members, helps to provide the tools necessary to allow every junior golfer the opportunity to enjoy the game of golf. As part of the program, Sticks for Kids provides as many children as possible with sets of golf clubs while they learn to play.
In addition to the company’s own donation, Hancor has developed a mechanism to allow for additional funding through its architect program, a promotional program aimed at golf course architects across the U.S. When specifying Hancor products, architects normally receive gift certificates from Hancor, redeemable for golf products. With the revised program, architects will now have the option to direct a portion or the entire value of their rewards to the Sticks for Kids Program.
Hancor has been providing innovative solutions for golf course drainage applications for years with such products as EcoFirst , Turf-Tek™ and Drain-Rite™. EcoFirst is made entirely out of recycled polyethylene, making it an ideal environmental choice for any drainage application. Using a patent pending manufacturing process, EcoFirst fulfills the demands of today’s "green" building practices and meets all AASHTO performance standards as well as higher NCTL standards. Turf-Tek sets a new standard in quality and selection for valve boxes, catch basins and drains. Drain-Rite provides made-to-order solutions for cost-effective drains. As part of its commitment to the environment, Hancor is also an Official Partner of Ducks Unlimited, the world’s leading wetland conservation organization.
"Supporting the GCBAA was a natural fit for us. We’re happy to support an industry we work so closely with," says Doug Zak, Manager Recreation Market at Hancor. "It’s really an extension of our Hancor corporate promise – it states that we’re committed to our community and the protection of our environment. That’s a promise we don’t take lightly."
One of the nation’s largest suppliers of storm water management systems, Hancor manufactures a wide variety of plastic drainage and water conservation products for commercial, residential, construction and agricultural markets. Hancor was founded in 1887 in Findlay, Ohio and operates manufacturing facilities and service centers across the country. For more information,
