At Hancor, we’re helping preserve the world’s wetlands.

Wetlands are some of the most productive ecosystems on our planet. Some 900 species depend on them for survival, and they improve our lives in numerous ways. Wetlands provide cleaner water in lakes and rivers, recharge groundwater, moderate flooding and soil erosion, and give us a place for outdoor recreation, like swimming, fishing and hunting.

There’s really only one problem with wetlands: they’re disappearing. The US alone has lost more than half of its original wetlands, and we continue to lose 100,000 acres – 150 square miles – every year.

At Hancor, we’ve decided to join in the fight to conserve these vitally important habitats. We’ve partnered with Ducks Unlimited (DU), the world’s largest private, non-profit wetland and waterfowl conservation body. In the more than 65 years DU has been in operation, they’ve conserved more than 10 million acres in North America, and their supporters have raised more than $1.6 billion for the cause.

We’re committed to making a difference.

We’re DU’s official supplier of wetland structures and pipe systems for water management and conservation projects. In fact, we’re willing to help any organization plan the water management of their conservation project. But beyond that, we’ve also co-branded a new pipe with Ducks Unlimited, ideal for environmentally sensitive projects. It’s called EcoFirst, and it’s engineered from reclaimed resin. It can be used in a variety of projects, from agricultural fields to golf courses, because it’s perfect for silt- and soil-tight, non-pressure, non-AASHTO drainage applications. Together with BLUE SEAL, Sure-Lok and our Control Gate, EcoFirst is part of a family of products that offers the perfect solution to any conservation project.
